The most unique aspect of Apricot Lane Farms is its purposeful integration within an intentionally reawakened ecosystem. The marriage between farm and nature is how they maximize the flavor of the food they grow and regulate the immune system of their land. Ultimately, it all starts (and ends, and restarts) with the soil. The relationship between the health of our planet and everything that lives on it is regulated by the stability of microbially diverse soil systems. As John likes to say, “Whether we eat a cow or a carrot, it is only as nutritious as the soil that feeds it.” And healthy soil is built from the top down, which means every decision they make above it matters. In short, this is why ecologically regenerative farming methods that restore biodiversity above and within the soil (cover cropping, compost application, managed grazing, etc.) create some of the most nutrient-dense and flavorful food that only nature can provide. Bringing to life this connection between food and ecosystems has been the guiding vision of Molly and John Chester since the farm was founded in 2011. Today the farm spans 214 acres of countryside in Moorpark, California, just 40 miles north of Los Angeles. We grow more than 200 varieties of fruits and vegetables, and humanely raise sheep, cows, pigs, chickens, and ducks on pastures and within our orchards. The farm carries three certifications: Organic, Biodynamic, and Regenerative Organic. Several of our restored habitat areas of the farm are Certified Wildlife Habitat. And our animal program is Humane Certified. Learn more about our practices by clicking around the different areas of the farm above.

“I think one of the most beautiful things about Apricot Lane Farms is that John Chester has such a visual mind,” - Erin Sojourner, director of business development for Demeter U.S.

Can I order from multiple vendors in one order?
Yes! Our service allows you to order from as many vendors as you like. After selecting your region and delivery date at the top of the page, you'll be able to browse all the products that are available. Regardless of how many products or vendors you order you'll only pay the $5 flat delivery fee (there’s a $6 small order fee if your order is less than $50)
How much is the delivery fee? Are there any other fees?
The delivery fee is $5 flat, no matter how many small businesses you order from. We have no other service fees, however, there’s a $6 small order fee if your order is less than $50. There are no subscriptions, order only when you want!
Do I have to be home for the delivery?
You do not have to be home at the time of delivery - your order will be packed to stay fresh for up to 4 hours. You’ll receive a text when your order is on its way with a link to track your driver.
Do items arrive fresh or frozen?
You can click on a product to see the state that it arrives in. Most pastries are baked the same day as delivery and meals are either frozen or fresh and arrive with cooking instructions.
Can I add to my order?
Yes! You can add to your order up until the day before delivery. Just use the code ADD at checkout.
Is Locale environmentally friendly?
Yes! While we deliver from far away vendors, we batch all orders - meaning we pick up and deliver to many customers all on one driver's route. This means that your order doesn’t actually increase the amount of miles that we drive. We also reuse almost all of our packaging and you can leave boxes from your previous orders out that our drivers will pick up! Read more here.
