Orders are delivered every Friday and can be placed up until 6pm the day before. We place orders with vendors days ahead of pick up so that they can plan their production, reduce waste, and give staff time to make their amazing products. This also allows us to limit our environmental impact and reduce delivery fees for you.

Gelato Festival's story starts back in 2010 in Florence, Italy. Being proud (and curious) Italians, Gelato Festival began to study the history of gelato–which dates back more than 500 years to the renaissance–and its inventor Bernardo Buontalenti (whose name literally translates to “good talents” -- of course!) This filled them with intense imagination and respect for the art of gelato, and so they set out on a mission to find out who is creating the world’s best gelato today, so they could share it with everyone. And that’s why they held the first Gelato Festival competition, local to Italy, more than ten years ago. Since then, Gelato Festival has grown into the world’s most prestigious gelato tournament, with competitions in over 22 countries. Here the world’s most passionate gelato chefs dream up mind-blowing gelato recipes in pursuit of the title of World Master. Now Gelato Festival brings these creations to you–the best of the best from these competitions–whether you visit one of their online gelato shops, buy a pint at your local store, order a collab at some of the best restaurants across the country, or even get a special selection of award-winning gelato shipped to your home or office.

Unpack your delivery full of goodies

Your box will arrive packed for freshness during the time window you select. Everything will be packed to last for a few hours in case you're not home for delivery.

Enjoy amazing food whenever you want it

Each item comes with instructions on how to store, prepare, and when to best enjoy it. Frozen or fresh, rest assured you’re going to love what you get from Locale.

Can I order from multiple vendors in one order?

Yes! Our service allows you to order from as many vendors as you like. After selecting your region and delivery date at the top of the page, you'll be able to browse all the products that are available. Regardless of how many products or vendors you order you'll only pay the $5 flat delivery fee (there’s a $6 small order fee if your order is less than $50)

How much is the delivery fee? Are there any other fees?

The delivery fee is $5 flat, no matter how many small businesses you order from. We have no other service fees, however, there’s a $6 small order fee if your order is less than $50. There are no subscriptions, order only when you want!

Do I have to be home for the delivery?

You do not have to be home at the time of delivery - your order will be packed to stay fresh for up to 4 hours. You’ll receive a text when your order is on its way with a link to track your driver.

Do items arrive fresh or frozen?

You can click on a product to see the state that it arrives in. Most pastries are baked the same day as delivery and meals are either frozen or fresh and arrive with cooking instructions.

Can I add to my order?

Yes! You can add to your order up until the day before delivery. Just use the code ADD at checkout.

Is Locale environmentally friendly?

Yes! While we deliver from far away vendors, we batch all orders - meaning we pick up and deliver to many customers all on one driver's route. This means that your order doesn’t actually increase the amount of miles that we drive. We also reuse almost all of our packaging and you can leave boxes from your previous orders out that our drivers will pick up! Read more here.
