Orders are delivered every Friday and can be placed up until 6pm the day before. We place orders with vendors days ahead of pick up so that they can plan their production, reduce waste, and give staff time to make their amazing products. This also allows us to limit our environmental impact and reduce delivery fees for you.

Covered in dirt, sun-kissed, and windblown - nothing makes me happier than growing healthy, nutrient-dense food to share with others. After 12 yrs in NYC, Joni Albers moved to Sun Valley, CA and created an Urban Farm - The Hungry Gardens. Growing up in rural Northwest Kansas in a tiny town, she was a member of the Solomon Valley 4H Club. Where, at the young age of 6, she created my first garden. Joni was the recipient of the blue ribbon at the county fair for my green beans and that started it all for me. Many years later the Hungry Gardens came to fruition. Healthy food and culinary experiences underpin everything they grow at the Hungry Gardens. Open pollinated heirloom varieties are critical to the biodiversity of our ecosystems. They specialize in growing unique vegetables that are not available commercially but have historical and indigenous value. Their farming practice utilizes regenerative methods that promote continual improvement in the soil profile, water retention, and soil biodiversity. Fighting climate change and providing education is something we are very passionate about.

Your box will arrive packed for freshness during the time window you select. Everything will be packed to last for a few hours in case you're not home for delivery.

Can I order from multiple vendors in one order?
Yes! Our service allows you to order from as many vendors as you like. After selecting your region and delivery date at the top of the page, you'll be able to browse all the products that are available. Regardless of how many products or vendors you order you'll only pay the $5 flat delivery fee (there’s a $6 small order fee if your order is less than $50)
How much is the delivery fee? Are there any other fees?
The delivery fee is $5 flat, no matter how many small businesses you order from. We have no other service fees, however, there’s a $6 small order fee if your order is less than $50. There are no subscriptions, order only when you want!
Do I have to be home for the delivery?
You do not have to be home at the time of delivery - your order will be packed to stay fresh for up to 4 hours. You’ll receive a text when your order is on its way with a link to track your driver.
Do items arrive fresh or frozen?
You can click on a product to see the state that it arrives in. Most pastries are baked the same day as delivery and meals are either frozen or fresh and arrive with cooking instructions.
Can I add to my order?
Yes! You can add to your order up until the day before delivery. Just use the code ADD at checkout.
Is Locale environmentally friendly?
Yes! While we deliver from far away vendors, we batch all orders - meaning we pick up and deliver to many customers all on one driver's route. This means that your order doesn’t actually increase the amount of miles that we drive. We also reuse almost all of our packaging and you can leave boxes from your previous orders out that our drivers will pick up! Read more here.
